Dear Fritz,
You're gonna love this one. We celebrate Ukrainian Christmas this Saturday with our friends, Mark and Dayle, whom you met when in St. Andrews. Well, Dayle has been watching just enough of the cooking channel to get herself into trouble. She has decided that turkeys should not stuffed (dressed) for roasting. To that end, she has us to make a 'stove top' stuffing. Well, Greg doesn't make 'stove top' stuffing. Could you perhaps supply a recipe which will help us out? Although there will be about 30 people, there will also be a ham and plenty of Ukrainian food as well. The turkey, which someone else is cooking, will be brought over in its roasting pan with its juices, if that is of any consequence. Thanks a million for this unusual request. Warm regards, Jay

| See my Serviettenknœdel recipe in previous thread under the heading, "Perfect Roasted Turkey". I have also sent you a separate private email with the same information. Serviettenknœdel is not only better than 90% of stuffing's one finds inside of most Thanksgiving turkeys these day, but it is much easier to portion and serve. |

Thanks, Fritz. It was delicious. It was a bit time consuming to make a double batch, but in the tundra, what else better to do? The addition of the sweet marjoram and sauteed onions would have been swell. Also for those trying this recipe, for heaven's sake don't forget the salt and pepper. Everyone loved it! Because it slices so beautifully there are many ways for creative presentation as well, especially around the holidays.
